History of Dane County presents a comprehensive history of Dane County, Wisconsin from the time of European contact through 1900, including brief historical sketches of each township. It is illustrated with two plates: first state capitol, 1839-1857 and first county courthouse, 1851-1884. Included are lists of officers and those who received commissions from the President in the Civil War, in addition to lists of Civil War dead from each township, village, and city.
