Summary |
Town of Berry : a history of the first hundred years with an emphasis on town government in the early years. Of note is a description of cattle marks (i.e. slit in left ear or half moon on underside of right ear) of Samuel Hawley, William Hawley, and Thomas Hawler recorded by the town board. There is also a list of Civil War Volunteer Bounty payments raised by tax and made to individuals. This is a reprint issued in 1997 by the Cross Plains-Berry Historical Society. The years specified on the cover in this reprint are 1850-1950, while on the original they are 1851-1951. |
