Summary |
Genealogical Notes on the Laumann Family. This photocopy of the original typescript also includes information about allied family lines of Bjaaland, Sanderson, and Sorenson. Carl Johan Laumann emigrated from Norway to Wisconsin about 1838. He married Guro Homme (aka Julia Sorenson) in Janesville, Wis. in 1848. Guro had emigrated from Norway to Wisconsin in 1845 with her brother Jorgen, Knud Larsen Bjaaland, and Tarje Olsen Bjaaland to join Guru and Jorgen's older brother Even Sorenson Bjaaland (aka Samuel Evin Sanderson), who had previously moved to the Koshkonong (Wis.) area. The Laumanns eventually settled in St. Peter, Minn. Included with the genealogy is a copy of a newspaper story at the time of their 50th wedding anniversary. Members of the Bjaaland and Sanderson families remained in Wisconsin. Most of the information relates to the 19th century. |
