Rockdale Centennial, July 17-18, 1936 : Program and Local History, 1836-1936. This commemorative local history consists of the following sections: "History of Early Days in Clinton - Now Rockdale" by Betty Michelson; "Rockdale and Koshkonong Churches" by Winifred Prescott; "Pioneer Farmers of Christiana" by Ruth Henderson; and "Rasmus B. Anderson" by Warren Anderson. Included are photographs of respective authors who appear to be Cambridge High School students. The publication also includes numerous advertisements for local businesses and photographs of men who served on the Rockdale Centennial General Committee -- E. G. Jewell, chair, J. B. Turnbull, Theo Tellefson, Merrill Kravik, G. A. Johnson, Harlow I. Tellefson, and Orlow I. Anderson. There are also photographs of the following people and places: Rasmus B. Anderson and a memorial to him; Mrs. John T. Haight; Chester Tellefson; Rockdale Flour Mill; Jens Hanson; Rev. J.W.C. Dietrichson; house built by Gunul Olson Vendig in 1840; Nils Siverson Gilderhus and family; Amund and Ingeborg Anderson; and Abel Catherine (Anderson) Amundson. Includes the program for the two-day centennial celebration, a poem written by June Jarlsberg titled "To Rockdale - on Her Centernnial," and a drawing of the first Norwegian church dedicated in Wisconsin.
