Waunakee Centennial, 1871-1971. This illustrated history contains information about 19th and 20th century Waunakee, Wisconsin including early European American settlement and creation of the village. There are sections devoted to sidewalks, streets, sewer and water, post office, public library, police and fire departments, railroad, military, schools, residences, the old mill, religion, communications, doctors, organizations, pioneers, airport, sports and recreation, music, government, and business. The many illustrations include historic photographs, contemporary advertisements from local businesses, and 26 pages of contemporary portrait photographs of local men, women, children, and families dressed in "old-time" costumes in commemoration of the centennial. Also included is the program of the Waunakee Centennial Celebration held Thursday August 5 - Sunday August 8, 1971. |
