Summary |
The Eagle's Nest. This typescript article, prepared for the Verona Press, reviews the history of the building that housed the popular Eagle's Nest restaurant in Verona, Wis. Over its 120 years, the building served as a doctor's home, stage relay station, saloon, hotel, "speak easy," and supper club. The buildings' owners and its uses over the years reflect the history and growth of the town and the surrounding agricultural community. The respective owners and tenants had connections with nearby towns and villages, such as Middleton, Monroe, and Mazomanie. |
