"... with liberty and justice for all." Commemorating the 200th anniversary of the United States Constitution and the rededication of the Dane County Courthouse in Madison, Wisconsin. The booklet includes two Dane County resolutions declaring Constitution Week in Dane County and commemorating the 200th anniversary of the adoption of the Northwest Ordinance. It also includes: a brief summary of the work involved in creating the U.S. Constitution and a chronology thereof; the Dane County Ordinance creating a preamble (Declaration of Rights) to the Dane County Code of Ordinances; a program of events for Sept. 11 & 14-16 1987; a history of Dane County's first three courthouses illustrated with photographs; brief biographies of the signers of the U.S. Constitution for whom Madison's downtown streets are named; and a brief outline of the work to create the Wisconsin state constitution. |
