The Citizens for Monona Terrace Plan Committee Materials include promotional and press items used by the group to put forward the cause of using Frank Lloyd Wright's Monona Terrace Plan to build a civic center along the shore of Lake Monona in Madison, Wisconsin. The materials include two copies of a brochure advocating a partnership between city and state officials on the project; copies of blank petition forms asking for this partnership; a fact sheet detailing a sample of public opinion on the Monona Terrace project throughout the state of Wisconsin; and clippings detailing the controversy surrounding the project and the passage of the Metzner bill by the Republican-controlled State Assembly which prohibited the construction of any building exceeding 20 feet in height in Madison's Law Park area. |
