The Story of Shorewood Hills is a detailed history of the development of this part of the Madison, Wisconsin area platted in 1912 on a wooded tract along Lake Mendota, then a distance from the city. The pamphlet describes the geology, early Indian presence, and the gradual development of the Village of Shorewood Hills including water, sewer, electricity, and roads. There are 12 photographs and a 1958 plat map of the village. Portraits of the 12 presidents of the village with short biographies are included at the end. |
