Scope & Content Century Farms in Dane County, Wisconsin. Century Farms was a program administered by the Wisconsin Dept. of Agriculture to recognize farms owned by the same family for 100 or more years. This card file notes for each farm the owner's name, the address, the township, sometimes the section and range location, the year settled, and the year of the award. The folder contains Xeroxed copies of the card file plus a 1972 survey form from the Dane County Historical Society, a 1985 application form, and a 1987 count of the number of century farms and homes in each township and village. The program began in 1948 and the latest entries in this file are about 1986.
