The Springdale Asessment Roll, 1897, records valuations of real estate and personal property in the Town of Springdale, Dane County, Wis., as well as in the villages of Mount Vernon, Riley, and Klevenville. Real estate is listed in the front half of the volume in order by location and showing the owner's name, location, number of acres, and valuation by the assessor.
Personal property assessments are in the back half of the volume in order alphabetically by name. Noted in columns are the owner's name; school district number; both quantity and value of horses, of cattle, of mules and asses, of sheep and lambs, of swine, of wagons, carriages, and sleighs, of watches, and of pianos and melodeons; shares of bank stock; value of merchants' and manufacturers' stock; amount of moneys, bonds, accounts, etc.; value of all other personal property; and number of wide tired wagons used.
