Records generated and collected by the Dane County Bicentennial Committee which organized county-based events commemorating the 200th anniversary of the American Revolution in 1776. One such event was an exhibition at the Dane County Memorial Coliseum titled "Heritage Days," featuring booths and tables highlighting the work of local historical organizations in the county. Other events included the development of a Prairie Heritage Trail; a wagon train that traveled through the county; a "Mock Convention to Reconsider a Bill of Rights in our Time"; a Dane County Bicentennial Quilt of squares made by local communities, accompanied by a slide-tape show; and a showmobile and concerts.

Note on Records' Physical Condition
These materials have been partially processed. All accessions have been integrated into a single order. Most are in folders labeled with titles though not with the call number. The newspaper clippings in Box 13-15 are loose in the boxes. The photographs in Box 16-primarily negatives and contact sheets-also need physical attention. The scrapbook in Box 17 contains adhesive sheets which will in time turn yellow; the scrapbook's contents may be duplicates of items elsewhere in the collection. Several different call numbers were at one time assigned to these materials and these old call numbers sometimes can be found penciled on the materials.
