Scope & Content The Dane County Bicentennial Commission on the Constitution Records contain correspondence, announcements, newsclippings, questionnnaires, an outline for a videotape, handwritten notes, schedules of bicentennial programs held in Dane County, Wisconsin, and two publications titled "Constitution Week : An American Legacy" published by the Commission on the Bicentennial of the United States Constitution. Also of interest is a list of programs for area schools including a mock Constitutional Convention, a Town Meeting, and a visit by a first-person interpreter portraying Benjamin Franklin. The videotape contains a 14-minute "We the People" collage and a 32-minute speech by Representative Robert Kastenmeier.
Admin/Biographical History The Dane County Bicentennial Commission on the Constitution sponsored numerous events and projects during 1987 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the United States Constitution.
